Here is an update on the weekend's fun activities. We will have hiking, biking, dancing, drinking, "swimming," golf, and kayaking / boating. You will get badges for your participation. Okay, the Drink Badge will probably be the easiest to obtain. Friday evening: Happy Hour at Nicole's cabin in the town of Grand Lake. Brink your own beverages and an appetizer to share. You'll be able to acquire your Drink Badge, perhaps your Golf Badge (a one-hole course), maybe your Dance Badge. Saturday morning: We will bike (Bike Badge) to the trailhead for Adams Falls and then hike (Hike Badge) to the falls (an easy hike - just over a mile round trip). Lunch. Ice cream. Enjoy the area. For those that want real golf for their Golf Badge, Marlys can get tee times after 2:00 p.m. for approximately $57 for 9 holes. Contact her if you want to participate (477-0141). Saturday evening: a potluck at Winding River camp ground. Then, get your Dance Badge at the Lariat or Poncho and Lefty's (or even sashay down Main Street for your badge). Sunday morning: Boating and kayaking and "swimming." The group can rent a pontoon boat and tour the lake. There are also kayak rentals at the lake. Let Cindy or Marlys know if you want to go out on the boat and they'll reserve one. The Swim Badge will take place on the beach at Grand Lake. This is a fun event that does NOT require you to immerse yourself in the cold Grand Lake, unless you want to. If you have not already let me know that you will be there, please do email Cindy so she can give you addresses, times, etc. when the schedule is final.
